Located adjacent to the Red Rock National Conservation Area, this Richard Meier designed residential masterpiece embraces its beautiful surroundings while also providing a refined desert contemporary landscape design. Attanasio Landscape Architecture was retained to provide all design services for the exterior including the swimming pool, hardscapes and lighting schemes. The front entrance incorporates multiple shallow terraces with low desert groundcover and a large bosque of Swan Hill Olive trees. This tree grouping provides mass and scale to balance the architecture forms. An elegant rectilinear pool/spa mimics the lines of the architecture while incorporating a sleek pool cover system, hidden from view. Large Holly Oak trees are placed strategically to provide shade at different times of the day, countering the harsh desert sun. Complementary shrubs with grey/pale green coloration are used throughout including Silverberry, Dalea, Rosemary and Desert Carpet Acacia. This project is the recipient of several design awards.
